they did most of the regular season Team Mocadlo played their best ball when it mattered most and claimed the first team EWBL title in ten years with a 2-0 sweep over Team Knickerbocker Wednesday.
Game one was a tight affair most of the way with Art Allegra and Dustin Mocadlo dueling on the mound and neither offense could get much going. Team Mocadlo opened up the game in the fifth scoring four runs, none of which were earned due to the three errors made by Team Knickerbocker.
An outstanding play in the field may have been the momentum changer of the series. With one on, one out Art Allegra hit a scourching ball towards left field. The ball was hit so hard Matt Anderson could only get a hand on it before tipping it into the outfield where his brother, Ryan, made a diving catch. It was one of those days where Team Mocadlo made every play, and Team Knickerbocker did not.
Game two was more of the same. Team Knickerbocker fell 7-2, but had many chances in this one. Adam Zylberman had a grand-slam bid in the fourth that was caught against the wall by Ryan Anderson. Knickerbocker hit what looked to be a three run shot the following inning that was again caught by Anderson.
Team Mocadlo took an early 4-0 lead before Team Knickerbocker rallied for two runs of their own.
For the season Team Mocadlo went 10-1, and 13-3 including the tournament.
Team Mocadlo was comprised of Dustin Mocadlo, Ryan Anderson, Matt Anderson, and Kevin Dwire.
Team Knickerbocker was comprised of Erick Knickerbocker, Adam Zylberman, Eric Senger, and Art Allegra.
